A great deal of successful marketing today depends on closely understanding consumer behavior. As a marketer, you may always be curious to understand what excites or motivates your customers into buying either your products or those of your competitor. Remember the day when you had decided to buy your first computer. You must have considered many factors before finalizing which computer to purchase. Positive references from friends and acquaintances help one make a decision. How has Facebook changed all of this? Research has shown that buyers do a great deal of product research on the Internet and most of the time choose to purchase the product either online or offline. Brands trying to ignore this new medium find themselves in a state similar to an ostrich, with its head buried in sand, thinking the world cannot see it. The real image of the brand in people’s minds shows up aloud these days through conversations on Facebook. Facebook and Online Reputation The power of Facebook, as discussed, has extended the scope of Word of Mouth beyond the good old conversation between friends. Today, each and every Facebook user is free to publish his views on your brand. The true effect of this happens whenever these conversations appear in searches and influence people’s opinion about the brand image. This is where online reputation, primarily on a widely accepted medium like Facebook, matters. In a nutshell.. Managing a positive image of your brand requires you to expand your reach, more than what you would do in case of conventional media. The conversational nature of social networking sites, such as Facebook, demands a different approach. · One more thing, if you decide to use videos, I have 2 videos on my faceplate, one showing how to upload your video to YouTube, the other showing how to have your YouTube video on your website or in your spotlights here by using the embed code provided by YouTube once your video is uploaded there

· One other suggestion : IBS Instant Blog Subscribers http://instantblogsubscribers.com/vip/phmoisan you can create a blog for free there too, I don't know about plug-ins though, I haven't been very active there yet, I know some people around here promote it a lot

· Of course, you could create your blog for free at wordpress.com, but it looks more serious on your own domain. It's up to you. And I don't know how much flexibility you have if you choose to be on wordpress.com

· The recommendation I have seen the most often : buy a domain name, you can do it with namecheap.com, then buy hosting, I use hostgator.com their service is awesome, then create a Wordpress blog, if you don't know how, I'll explain it to you, it is quite simple, after you have done the first one, others will be very easy, and it takes about 30 minutes. After creating the blog, you choose the theme, install plug-ins, you're in business. There are many very useful plug-ins out there, to transform your WP blog into a membership site, among other things, you can put videos, that's very easy.
