Your Business in 2011

A global ecomony has made "doing business" competitive, innovative, and demanding! Such a marketplace means you have to develop goals that are streamlined, customer-product oriented, and bottom-line conscious. Achieving this can be daunting and challenging. I know that has been my experience.
A few guidelines that may be helpful to you are listed below:
- Set specific goals. Decide how much money you need to earn per week or month, and determine how many customers are needed to meet that goal. Figure out the number of sales that must be made, the amount of total sales, and make a plan.
- Take massive, but focused action. Your plan must target many areas to prop-up your business, yet each one should be focused, and complimentary to the others. Darting here and there with no definite plan will not lead to positive results.
- Arrange planning time. Schedule time to plan, develop market strategies, and implementation. Do at least one thing per day to market your business.
- Be innovative, clear and active! Set yourself apart from others in your market, but be clear about the direction you want to go, and "get moving!"
Set goals that lead to bigger objectives, moving step-by-step for achievement. Be visionary! Do not allow your present status to prevent you from seeing the place you want to "land." Make your goals specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound.
One goal maybe to improve business revenue. Ask yourself: How am I going to do that? One way could involve making your business accessible to more customers through increased marketing, improving your product line--such as focusing on what is "hot" in your market and making sure you offer it, booking more events, or expanding your contact list. Your mind-set for each day, week and month should be to find and implement ways to increase revenue.
Are you into social media marketing? Today, everybody is! Create a custom page for Facebook; join conversations on Twitter; add videos to your website, start blogging, turn blogs into ebooks, and optimize your website.
Understand that your business is always "a work in progress." See you in December 2011!
