What the Experts Say About: How To Make Money On the Internet
What I learned
The first day I decided to do internet marketing was with my "brick and mortar" clothing store. I was so excited! After finding a web host, learning how to develop the site, and putting a few outfits online, I sat back and waited for the contacts to roll in. None came. It never occurred to me that I would have to find ways to set my online store apart from others just as I had done with my offline store, let people know that I was actually online, and somehow harness the people interested in my products. That was hard!
Research revealed that even stores with unlimited budgets were only averaging about a 20% increase in sales online. What could I expect with an almost non-existent budget? Since then, I have spent two years trying to make money online, and it becomes more difficult with each passing year. Here is what some of the experts say about making money on the internet:
1. Look for companies to work with that do not require you to have a web domain.
2. Find companies that pay cash; not give points, or chances to win money.
3. Avoid hard-selling companies with lots of hype.
4. Shy away from companies that promote more internet marketing.
5. Select companies that give a good return on your time and investment.
One expert advocates having a completely automated online business that does not require hours of computer-sitting and web-surfing, allowing you to do the things that you enjoy. Does any of this sound familiar?
Others say work from home, make money from your Website, join affiliate programs, summer jobs, seasonal jobs, get paid to take online surveys, get paid by reading email, get paid by surfing the Web, money making tutorials, earn revenue by placing ads on your Website, advertisement programs, get a fee to refer customers, and receive commission for offering custom builds.
Those of you out there in "faceplate land" probably knew this and much more. Even though I found much of this information enlightening, I concluded that every person has to find what works best for him.
The thing that caught my attention the most was, to investigate companies that really do provide free sites and services and not pretend that they do (as though you cannot figure out the difference), thereby keeping your expenses low, recognize that it takes time to build your online business just as it does to build an offline business, give more than you receive, and let honesty, integrity, and sincerity guide everything that you do.
