Complaint is Poverty!
Today I fell into a complaint mode--a mode of thinking that caused me let someone know in no uncertain terms that "you are putting the screws to me!" Oh, I chose my words carefully, no screaming, no cursing, but emphatically saying, "You're doing it!"
Afterwards, I rationalized the necessity of making the choice to do so. "It's wrong!" I told myself. Deep down, I was not proud of myself. I knew within the depths of my being that what another does and says, has no bearing on who and what I am, and how I should conduct myself. It was not so much the words that I spoke, but the force of thought behind them. I complained!!!!!!!!! Slowly, I remembered the article that I had written several days before entitled: "Complaint is poverty!"
I will not give you a recounting of the article, I will give you the article.
After reading it, you will be able to see why I knew I had to rise above the action committed by someone else, and focus on a correct response to it.
Here we go: "Complaint is poverty!

Sep 12th 2010 at 8:13 AM by houseofmax Interesting article that makes you rethink where you stand. I have often questioned my passion because I have never written a complaint letter, call up a radio station or taken part in a demonstration. Nevertheless, I would say "It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it"! But deep down I always knew I am in charge - I can change my relationships for the better.

Aug 29th 2010 at 10:27 PM by carolw44 it's easy to complain because that's what "everyone" does, and you can fit right in with the conversation when you do... but you are so right. It's just a way of affirming that you have no power, that you're just a poor little helpless person, and "they" are doing all this stuff to mess up your life. You won't find the people who take action and change things sitting in on that conversation for long...
