Creating a funnel

Everyone agrees that traffic is the key to internet sales. And everyone has tips on SEO, search listings, linkbacks, etc. But I have found that creating a social funnel is one of the most effective ways of capturing new traffic, without the expense of buying an email list or paying for advertising. Even better, this funnel technique uses simple and free resources to leverage your efforts. The basis of the funnel or perhaps I should say "the mouth" is Twitter, which has several useful add-ons which can be leveraged to provide a 24/7 stream of tweets which pull visitors to your pages. Other social networks, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Buzz, Yahoo, and several others, can be tied together for this purpose. Also, a site called Jottit.com provides a simple, quick, and free way to create "squeeze pages" to help capture leads and promote your other sites. I'll be explaining this in detail over the coming days. Using services such as CoTweet and Ping.fm, you can activate and control your messaging and funnels round the clock and worldwide. Finally, IMFaceplate gives you a free blogging and article writing capability. The key is to tie all these resources together into a wide-mouthed funnel, which I will discuss in my next discussion.
