Branding Yourself With Your Own Blog
You may have heard the term "branding yourself". I know that I have more times than I care to, but it is very important to your online success. One of the most critical things I believe that will assist you with self-branding is to start a blog or website. Setting up a blog is quite simple and there are so many free sites that you can use including Blogger, Wordpress, Weebly, etc.
Find a topic or niche to write about that interests you. In that way, it won't be a dreaded chore to blog. Try to offer your readers free information in the form of free reports/e-books or other types of software. PLR's (Private Label Rights) are the best to use because you can re-brand a report or e-book so that it contains all of your links to various programs mentioned inside of the report. This helps to increase your earnings within multiple programs that you are an affiliate in. You can also do program reviews on different opportunities. So in a nutshell, try to offer good content in your blog so that you will develop a strong following and hopefully build strong relationships with people as you earn their trust.
Once you have setup your blog, you should focus on generating traffic to it. You can tweet about your blog in Twitter, post on your wall in Facebook, make a video on IC.tv and/or YouTube, you can write a similar article here in IM Faceplate, etc. You can also setup a splashpage for Traffic Exchanges and link it to your blog. Another effective method is to comment on other people's blogs and post your link in your signature. However, be sure that your post is relevant to the topics that are being discussed. Don't be blatant and come off as a spammer. Also some bloggers will screen posts before they can be seen by other visitors so keep that in mind as well.
Ok, I'm going to use some military terminology here, but only briefly. Think of your blog/website as the command post from which all the other "outlying" posts are linked to. If you have a Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, IM FacePlate, or YouTube account these are what I classify as the outlying posts. This also includes your links to various programs that you are a member of.
Before I bring this to a close, I want to make sure you understand this critical fact: People would rather join opportunities or buy products from someone that they feel they know and trust. Branding Yourself helps to build this trust, NOT your program or product. Blogging is one of the more critical elements to help to brand yourself. It is by no means the only thing but it is an excellent place to start.
