Online marketing: Why images are good for ranking - part 1

Then I saw someone question that, saying that search engines want text. He also said images slow down the loading of your site. I am not a guru regarding search engines, but his statement was contrary to what I had read in many places. I will share here the result of my search for the truth on the matter. Instead of trying to fill the article with technical mumbo jumbo, I will offer some bits of informaton with links to reliable sources for a complete view.

Google Image Search

If you have made searches on Google, who hasn't, you have seen images on the first page of results. For example, if you look for the latest hot Hollywood actress, you will get plenty of pictures of her. These pictures are taken from websites. It goes to show that an image can be worth more than a thousand words, literally in this case. It's recommended that you use original pictures for your site, else, it won't be your site who will be featured.
