One of the hardest things to do online for most people is to remain focused on promoting their businesses while ignoring the thousands of hyped up opportunities being thrown at them 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You practically have to wear blinders to keep from accumulating a couple dozen businesses you'll never be able to promote effectively, which leads to failure in the long run.
If I add additional programs they absolutely must tie back into my main business somehow. For example I promote Viking Text Ads (my main business) on Instant Blog Subscribers. I also use rebrandable ebooks to grow my opt-in list which ties back into promoting Viking Text Ads. I get some of the rebrandable ebooks from Viral Ebook Success because they promote Instant Blog Subscribers which of course leads back to Viking Text Ads again. Make sense?
I look at my marketing as the spokes of a wheel and everything I do has to lead to the center of the wheel which is my blogging and Viking Text Ads. Some people prefer to use a funnel as an example with everything leading to their blog and the blog leading to their main business opportunity.
Use whichever one is easiest for you to envision the process so you can see whether or not your business has some sort of structure. You can draw it out on a piece of paper if that helps and when someone pitches their business at you try drawing it into the picture to see if it leads back to your primary business.
That was what I did last night when someone threw a new business opportunity at me and I was actually surprised with the result. I wasn't expecting it to fit, but it did. In fact after setting it up I was amazed with how well in worked. It tied pieces of my marketing together in a way I hadn't ever thought of before. Let me explain it as best I can and see whether or not it will work for you.
I use several different social networking sites to promote my business one of which is SWOM where I have a group set up for Viking Text Ads, but other than being linked to my Twitter account SWOM hadn't been one of the social networking sites I focused on very much.
So this new opportunity starts with joining SWOM as either a free member or upgrading to gold.
Next is Twitter. I know you know how well Twitter works to build your business, but this makes things even better. More on that in a minute.
I use Social Oomph to manage my tweets on three Twitter accounts, but I hadn't ever thought of becoming an affiliate because it wasn't part of my marketing wheel.
Then there is Twiends which I hadn't ever heard of before, but this is the piece that makes this so exciting because it grows my Twitter followers, adds Facebook fans to my Viking Text Ads fan page and it sends traffic directly to Viking Text Ads. How cool is that?
That is followed by Schnaap which can be an additional stream of income, but more importantly it includes advertising I can use to promote Viking Text Ads.
The last step is List Joe which I have been a member of for about as long as I can remember for email marketing.
You don't need to upgrade in any of these programs in order to use this as a marketing system and for me it tied pieces of my own marketing together in an entirely new way with some impressive results as far as new Twitter followers and Facebook fans are concerned.
If you choose to set this up let me assure you it is quite simple and has step-by-step instructions and a video. SWOM Bomb.
