A Lesson From The Vikings - Do The Hard Things!

When I launched Viking Text Ads I had long time friends who refused to join because they didn't want to be associated with anything related to Vikings because the Vikings had such a violent reputation.  While it is true that the Vikings were fierce warriors who terrorized Europe from 793 until 1066 A.D. they weren't any more violent than the rest of Europe was at that time.  What makes the Vikings stand out from the rest?

Many historians attribute the Vikings devastating effectiveness to their longboats, which were swift, light and could be easily dragged ashore.  This allowed them to strike suddenly and then quickly retreat to the safety of the sea, but there is something else that separates them from everyone else...

THE VIKINGS ROWED THEMSELVES TO BATTLE!

Unlike the Romans before them, who used galley slaves to row their warships, the Vikings took this upon themselves and didn't delegate it.

This tells us two things, the Vikings pursued competence in every area pertaining to their own success and they were seriously ripped. No wonder the people of Europe were afraid of these guys!

Learn a lesson from the Vikings.

Do the hard things and you will carry the battle every time.  If you are willing to take on responsibilities that others delegate or neglect you will gain the benefits of that exertion.

Seriously, if you are not willing to post comments on authority sites pertaining to your niche, create backlinks to your websites, write blog posts, write ezine articles, write press releases or get your website listed in the directories and build your own opt-in list, who will?
