Connecting Us All Saves Orphanage

We recently received a post on our Giving Tree from a lady in Africa who runs an orphanage. She was desperate because she did not have the funds to pay the rent on the orphanage and was soon to be put out on the streets along with all of the children in the orphanage. After posting her request on the giving tree a stampede of members came to her aid via the gift choice and Connecting Us All was able to send her a check that was sufficient enough to cover her rent for another year. When I see triumphant stories like these I am proud to be associated with an organization that is designed to help people all over the world directly. Not through some organization that takes in the funds and decides how much will go to the cause after they get their share. I read the other day that there are over two million homeless people in Haiti. They are sleeping in the streets in tents and card board boxes. Children are going hungry, women are being violated and it makes you wonder what happened to the outpouring of funds that was sent to Haiti from all over the world? At least in Connecting Us All you can choose who your gifts will go to and they will go directly to that person or organization. There are many charitable organizations that post on our Giving Tree as well as using our Giving Pool to raise funds for their organization.
