I guess the best tip I can give is to always promote a branded capture page instead of your affiliate/company page. It takes an average of 7-10 times of seeing an offer for a person to take action. When you promote a general company page, you get lost along with the many others that promote the same page, making chances of you getting a sign up very slim. If you promote a memorable capture page branded with your picture, that directs people to your company page after, you get their e-mail information, and also make sure that the next few times they see the company's page it will be yours, increasing chance of sign up.

Funny that you should ask that question, I was just saying I need to get back into forums. A great tip for marketing in them is to just use your signature line, and never spam. A great way to get those signature links seen is to greet people in the introductions thread, and posting good, thoughtful responses to questions asked by others when possible. This will brand you as an expert, and people will naturally wonder what it is that you do.

One simple way to gain small amounts of traffic is by answering questions in forums like askyahoo.com and many others . First make a list of questions people might ask that you have a product or offer that might help them . Then simply answer their question and direct them to your offer .

Yes, you must swim in the same ocean as your potential customers but beware of being the rookie life insurance salesman at the cocktail party who rapidly find himself standing alone because he tried to prospect everyone.
Directing someone to a page with 'more information' is a better approach. That page could also contain your offer but it should have the more information you promised as well. Marketers must fulfill their contracts with their contacts.

Internet marketing is 99% list building. If you are not building your list then you are building one for someone else. Always, always, always, always drive your traffic through your marketing system first before sending it anywhere else.
Cheers! Rex

I must agree with Rex, never pass up an opportunity to get someone on a list for the niche you are marketing to.
What I was commenting on was sending a warm or even cold prospect directly to an offer page. Fasted way to get a bounce and never get an opportunity to establish a relationship.

I have to agree with everyone in that it doesn't make any sense to spend your advertising dollars/time on an affiliate page that is just like every one else's. I use a splash/capture program that allows me to edit my page anytime without having to change the url.
It also allows me to 'clone' a page and create another url for the same page for tracking different ad campaigns. This also allows me to tweak a page; colors, wording, headlines, etc, without having to re-enter my url into the various campaigns. Feel free to contact me if you'd like more info on this subject.
