7 Easy Steps to Instant Traffic For Your Website!

If you want to ensure that you get a lot of traffic to your website, you need to follow a few simple directives. Given below are seven tips which will help you get more traffic:

1. Ensure that you have high quality content

The first thing that you need to do is to have good quality content. In the World Wide Web, content is the king. The only way in which you can do well and get good traffic is by having relevant content in your website.

Instead of going in for mediocre content which will only lead to a bad impression upon your website visitors, try to devote more time to your content and churn out high quality content.

2. Link exchanges.

Linking is a good old way of generating huge traffic to your website. It is a good way of promoting your website. In order to build up links, get in touch with website owners whose sites have content similar to yours. Once you identify such websites, contact their owners and exchange links. Through them, you will definitely be able to get hold of some relevant traffic.

3. Go for affiliates

Affiliate programs mean that you will hire individuals to promote your website or products. In exchange, you will have to pay them a certain percentage of your profits. There are many ways to pay your affiliates and you can choose any way that suits you. However, when hiring affiliates, ensure that the content on their pages is related to your website content.

4. Submitting to directories

In order to make your website more visible, submit it to popular directories like Open Directory Project and Zeal. You can also submit to directories which have themes so that their topics are relevant to your website. You can also go for small directories which can get hold of a lot of in bound links for you.

5. Go for a bit of video marketing:

Make a video promoting your website and then post it on any of the popular video websites. Post it on YouTube, Break.com or even on various social networking sites. Try to make an interesting video which will be appreciated by your target audience. If they like your video, they will circulate it and that would be a great kind of publicity for your website. Make it a point to include the url of your website in that video.

6. Create a free report:

Try to create a report that is related to your business. A great way to promote your website is to add a link of your website frequently in the report. Once you write the report, give it away for free to different website owners. Once you are able to distribute it freely to people with websites, you can ensure that you get a great deal of traffic.

7. Go for posting free ads:

Post advertisements in places where you are sure to get traffic. Although most of the free ad forums are just a waste of time, a few of them can actually be of great help.

Follow these tips and you will be able to get great traffic to your website and get your business booming.

Hi Steven, I'm really in accord with you.
But I will add "Article Marketing".
I find it useful again.

See you,

Great Points Steven. I must second that article marketing should be an important part of marketing any website online. It is by far one of the best free tools still around. But again, I love your Seven Steps.

I've doubts about the effectiveness of link exchanges and submission to directories. Link exchanges are mostly reciprocal links and they get less attention from Search Engines. With regards to directory submission, unless you subscribe to premium listing otherwise your submission could be buried under 100's or maybe 1000's of pages that are submitted before you.

I personally feel, article submissions, forum postings are better as they provide one-way backlinks which are mostly preferred by SE these days.

@Steven,
I not an SEO expert. This is what I discovered after doing some diggings into discussion forums. The above are my personal comments. I hope you don't feel offended. My apology if I did arouse your feathers.

Those are all great points. I guess I will have to change the title to 8 easy steps and include article marketing.

Jimisan, no offense taken.

As far as link exchanges, I am referring to exchanging links with other sites that will benefit your site readers and theirs.

Directories on the other hand are good for link popularity and targeted traffic. You just want to find ones that have a good PR.
Many directories do require something in return. In most cases - it's simply money, ranging from a few dollars to several hundred.

Steven gave you very good advice on ways to market. Another thing you can do is email marketing, but you need to build a list. If you don't have a list yet, you can build one and send emails to other members at Safelist Exchanges. There are many to choose from on my website, along with other free advertising sites and traffic exchanges...here's the url:

    Good luck.

Another great and free way to advertise is with Twitter. You can put the link to your website on your profile and in your bio.
