Find it funny, I was poking around IMfaceplate today and all the trending topics, discussions and blogs...Are mostly pitches.

Where exactly is this taught online, that it works?

Here's an idea...Build your network. Meet other faceplaters....Get people to know YOU first, then they will SEEK your opportunities.

Just a thought...

Easy for you to say Jon! Every body knows you are the co-creator of Sweeva so you don't have to write promotional articles but most of us have no such "claim to fame" or name recognition. I enjoy well written articles whether they are promoting a Biz-Op or not! Go on and write a promo for Sweeva! You know you want to do it! LOL!

Yeah but what I try to teach people is that I'm nothing special. I'm just a guy who promoted 'myself' around the net. Build my name and my lists by being as visible as possible.

This stuff isn't hard. It's actually very easy. Unfortunately most people don't want the work that it takes to do it.

It's as simple as getting your name seen as much as possible, have opinions about things, get others to follow you in Twitter / IM faceplate / Facebook / Sweeva and show the passion.

Doesn't take money really...Takes effort. =)

I had a guy follow me today and the opening line of his fact post to me was "Excuse me sir but I was wondering if you could do me a favor and go join this." He then provided the link. It doesn't matter where you go, people somehow believe that this is how Internet marketing works. It's know wonder so many people struggle. How hard is it to say "hey, thanks for following me. How are you today?" I don't remember learning anything, as a kid, where I was supposed to say "my sponsor is making 10K monthly" when I met someone. Crazy...

What Jon says is right... the way you make a name for yourself is by doing things the right way. And that doesn't include spamming links everywhere.

I followed the same advice people like Jon just shared with you here, and it's taken me pretty far in a short amount of time.

Thanks for this, Jon. You motivated me to get on and write something I've been meaning to write for some time ..... and not an affiliate link in sight!

The name of the game is BRANDING, and with each and every post that you write here (and in the internet world for that matter), you are branding yourself. But what are you branding yourself as? When you post links all over the place and all of your articles are just sales pitches and you never take the time out to even say hello to your followers, you are branding yourself as an uncaring spammer, looking for the next signup to make them money.

As everyone has said here, make friends, help others, make conversation. Its Social Marketing people! For God's sake SOCIALIZE!!!!

No matter what business you're doing, the thing you must remember is this. This is a relationship business, not a sales business. I had it all backwards when I first started out. because I didn't what in the hell I was doing. But I learned quickly that was not the way to do business for success.

To make more I had to become more. That's what I did and I am happy to say that I help others to get what I needed way back when.

Today I am a Professional Mentor and network marketer helping others to be successful. I enjoy helping others, it is so very satisfying when someone really appreciate how I've helped them realize that.

agsvs88, I think you're missing Jon's point.

I don't think he was complaining about (or even mentioning) getting spam to his email box. Let's face it, we all get that, and we all know where the delete button is.

I think he was just suggesting there's another way to use IM faceplate that will get you better results than just posting links everywhere you can.

Personally, if I get a note on my face that says something along the lines of, "Hi, liked your faceplate, please take a look at my site at ....." I delete it as soon as I see it.
