Like scams, new resources are are joining the net nearly every day. Everything from lists, filing complaints, how-to's, etc. It is great!
Best first step for scam avoidance (Doing your own Due Diligence) is probably a Google or Yahoo search for the program.
If the program is new, try a background check on the owners http://www.whois.com/ When Owners hide behind privacy, I usually pass on the program
https://www.mywot.com/ Nice, but like Spam, anyone can report you for spamming and anyone can say something negative about a site and affect its ratings. Read the comment and decide for yourself. A good example Is "Swom" which has paid me continuously for 16 months. WOT issues a warning "This site has a poor reputation" Read the comments.

http://www.woorank.com/ This one is great.. generates a detailed report for any website...
For other resources, do a Google or Yahoo search
