I added a new Post on my Main Blog here:
http://stefanbergs.com/2010/07/why-you-should-start-using-im-faceplate-now/

Here is some part of it:

Sending affiliate links upfront to people you don’t know is not a good way of doing that. Just turn to yourself. How do you react if someone you don’t know at your first contact you urge you to join his/hers program? It is very easy to press the “Delete” button. And that´s just what is going to happen if your using Faceplate that way.

Instead – build yourself a name at this Forum, be a thrust worthy person that have information and valuable tips. People will turn to you and also refer to you. Use the opportunity to get people to know you by present a picture of you. Use your name in the username section. This is not the right place to put a funny picture or (one of your dogs, cats or kids). This is about Branding YOU…. Don’t use a “fake” name.

Feel Free to read the whole article and put your thoughts
in this thread...

Do You agree, disagree?
Any Tips and trix?

Best Regards

Stefan Berg

Steven, you have rightly shoot the point. But at the same time we know most or could be 100% of IMfaceplate users are marketers. How many of us here came for finding good friends or life partner? Do you notice that IMfaceplate like clickbank marketplace? :) We are here to sell something to someone basically that is what we do here. :) The are a lot of new marketers too who are exposing them self here.I would say everyone here are learning something each day from others at faceplate. But I am glad you have started this discussion so all of us can benefit and learn better understanding among us to buy or sell or doing cross sales and wise verse.

Yes, the vast majority of people here are marketers with something to offer or sell (the system is designed specifically for marketers), but what Stephan is saying is that people should focus on building the relationships and trust FIRST ... the sales will always follow.

I agree with you Stefan even though I don't have a pic or real name you can google iddigger and find my profile some where :)

As for Rammesh Perumal (Rammesh) comment I must say I disagree with you, messages like you sent me will never get a reply.

Since most of us here on IM faceplate are marketers, we are not primarily here to seek Biz-Ops but to promote Biz-Ops. However most are open to new Biz-Ops and that's where relationships come in. Constantly blasting our Biz-Op links will turn people off but sincerely looking at what others have to offer and tactfully sharing what we have to offer will end up with "win-win" situations for all, as I see it!

Hi Stefan, yes I usually do use the delete button for those messages. I'm here to get to know other marketers in depth.
But after yesterday I am only going to do that when necessary.
I got a message and sent a reply stating that ads would get them blocked and received an apology back and then went on to make a new friend as I helped them build their faceplate by adding an article and a spotlight.
That made me feel good to know I turned a negative action into a positive one. Perhaps we can gently steer the newer marketers into how to properly use this social medium to benefit their business! Cheers Soroya
