If so, which ones are best and how did you do it?

We've had some business from TE's, but not alot. The time we put into it did not eqaul the results. We are having better luck with safelists - a high conversion rate.

As far as which TE's are the best - you can refer to traffic whoopla (dot com). They list the most popular TE's as well as safelists (email marketing).

Have you done any business on TE's yet?

Melissa :)

Hello everybody,

My name is Javeton and this is my very first post here at IM FacePlate. It's great to meet you and I hope we can share some ideas and have some fun.

Regarding the topic of discussion, just last week I got a couple of hits that resulted in one sign-up and another trial run which later decided not to sign up, but the one sign-up was solid so that was very encouraging.

I don't think anyone is going to make $millions from TE's because most of the time you're restricted to between 10 & 20 seconds for viewing, but you do get exposure for your offers.

Javeton

The vast majority of people who are successful with traffic exchanges know that they are not suited to making direct sales. Putting a generic affiliate page on a traffic exchange is a sure way to waste your credits.

TEs are best used for personal branding - getting your name and face recognised, known and trusted - and for building your list of contacts.

I don't know to get people to my retail site. I have been blogging daily, posting to various social sites, using a backlink site making my submissions daily, posting to FB groups, connected with network blogs, connected to networking champ. There is a lot that I am doing daily. I just don't know how to get my rankings up to be on the first page of google.

Hello Anne. Getting on the first page of Google has nothing to do with traffic exchanges. You have to work the keywords in your posts/pages of your blog. You have some good keywords you are targeting, if you work it, you can get ranked for them. Have you been to the SEO page of my blog? It is a basic intro to keyword research. You know I'm here to help with that too if you need it.

I have built a list of referrals on a few of the traffic exchanges over the years, however I have found that I get little to no response from emailing them. I guess most sign up and that's it they simply vanish.

I respect no one wants to be bombarded with the latest great site to join, so I am careful about how often I do email send outs to my list. I used to do it once a fortnight, now I don't do it at all

The time and effort it takes to send emails to my downline knowing that none will read them, put them in spam or delete them.

I also feel that TE's which have chat rooms deflect people from looking at your sites, I also think that TE's with low timers (under 10 seconds) are less beneficial. Because what chance have you got for someone to check out your site in say 5 seconds?

Less is more I guess but when you are searching for prize pages and eager to click to the next one hoping there's cash to be found or you are engaged in chat your sites get a flicker and that's it gone, onto the next one.

Hi Brian,

From my experience, the surf timer makes little difference since people are surfing multiple exchanges anyway. By the tiem they get back to the one displaying your page, the time has run out, and they are just clicking the image to go to the next page anyway. At best, you can normally only hope for 2-3 seconds they actually see your page. I think ths is why autoplay videos seem to work so well. They at least get the surfer's attention for a second to two, even if it is only to annoy them.

@Ann - You are on the right track, what you are doing WILL deliver results in the long run, but if you need results in the short term also I would recommend traffic exchanges or safelists. As with other forms of advertising it is important to understand your target demographic and really test and fine tune to those markets.

Some of you may have bad experiences with Traffic Exchanges and their results, but if you can't get at least a 1% conversion then you may want to look back at your ads and test and work to improve them. Even at 1% which would be one of my worst campaigns is still about 10 conversions per $7-$10 which is cheaper than any adwords campaign I have done for many CPA clients.

I would like to challenge your negative traffic exchange results and personally invite you to try them again. I will be happy to give you a totally free try and maybe we can chat about your results and how to make the most of Traffic Exchanges. I think some of you will really be shocked at what they can do for you these days.

Definitely it is very well possible to set up your home business based upon Traffic Exchanges as your main promotion tool.
We have set up a complete Marketing System for this. The main topics with which a Marketing System must comply are, among others:

>> Build your List
>> Earn Money with Rebranding Rights
>> Promote your programs
>> Get referrals in your Traffic Exchanges
>> Minimum investment required
>> Increase your promotion when your business grows
>> Educate / train your referrals (DUPLICATION!)
