Some of the best ways I get free traffic is through my safelist ads. Another way is through forums. Join social networking sites that focus on home based businesses.

i find that one of the FASTEST ways is to join JV Giveaway Events. However, the quality of the subscribers you receive may consist of mainly 'freebie' seekers only. the ratio, for me, was 90/10, where the 20% was for subscribers who purchased 1 or more products from me. that's just my experience, you may do better or worse.

Beside the obvious allocated time for Social media interaction each day,
my signature (from http://wisestamp.com) is attached to all of my E-mails and Forum Posts, directing back to Social Media and main Blog Sites. There is also time allocated daily for Blog Commenting on relevant Niche Blogs (tracking show excellent Conversion to Traffic and final conversion) Guest blogging, Article submissions Podcasting and Videos have also been a worthwhile Traffic Generating Activity. We have been discussing these system in Depth on Video each week in our Year Long Webinar Series, Building a Web Based Business from Scratch But my Favorites and most productive are: 1. Social media 2. Podcasting 3. Blog Commneting

Remember fast is not always better. The best ways of getting rapid exposure of a high quality I have found all relate to blogs and social media, and more particular, RSS Sharing.
What a lot of bloggers don't do and is too often left out of those Guru books is when setting up RPC Ping Services, they don't talk about the type of sharing you should select and how to set up your creative commons license. Fact is you wish to share even with commercial sites, you need to require a back link, but you should also require your post and links be kept in tact. This invites more people to share blog post you make but limits them to the type of sharing that will send you the most traffic. A lot of the folks not telling you this will scalp feeds with the wrong license and turn your prized work into a spun article advertising their links instead, so go to Creative Commons and set up your license. Exchanges and safelist offer fast bulk traffic but read these articles and groups well. We even have out of the mouth of one exchange owner saying that when they are surfing they don't want to know all about your offer they just want credits to advertise theirs. This is the reason exchange conversion is so low. I own a exchange as well but tell you this because all types of traffic have their place, time and reason for being used but choose the type of traffic you take by the results you want and not the volume. I like to use keyword research and SEO to market my products and affiliate links. I especially like to do this using advertising forums as they are great for getting quality back links. My favourite would have to be Free Business Advertising Forum.
Added to this I use a few selected traffic exchanges. Dr Shaun Hutchinson
