Surfing is the core of a traffic exchange, but what other features in traffic exchanges do people really love?

Do the customized banners really matter?
How many people actually use the site rotators many TEs offer?
Does access to a TE-specific forum help?
etc

Some of these I suspect the answer will be no surprise, but it'd be fun for people to say for themselves. :)

Love the banners and text ads. I used those for some very effective personal branding. Anything that gets my name or logo across to the masses, I like LOL

Id have to say people do use my rotator rather often and its a great thing to see it on while I am surfing on other exchanges.

An underused feature that many do not use on traffic exchanges for some reason are banner and text ads. Id have to say a major portion of my sign ups come from these ads rather then page views.

I agree with Sean regarding banners and text ads. Text ads particularly, I think are underused.

Personalised splash pages and banners are also a very useful thing, and something I'm looking at adding at HBPro. Since I've been harping on about personal branding lately, it seems a bit hypocritical to not have those available at my TE.

I tend to like the traffic exchanges that offer big bonus credits for surfing. I have found that using splash pages in the traffic exchanges are more effective than long articles on websites. The 15 to 30 seconds on those pages tend to go by pretty fast. So You need attention getters like Splash pages.

I agree whole-heartedly that banners and texts ads are widely underused in Traffic Exchanges yet they can be a great tool in your arsenal...

So much so that I have a Splash Page and Banner creation contest every month @ Hitcrusher.

I give $10 for every splash I use and $5 for every banner
created by the members...

I currently have 6 Splashes and 11 banners for my members (and myself) to promote the exchange, gain referrals and ultimately commissions, which is why we join the TE's in the first place, right?

I've never had any good results with text ads and limited success with banner ads.

What I don't like are traffic exchange that have those ' sorry, better luck next time' messages after you click an image to see if you won something or not. I hate those !

I just feel that owners/admin don't appreciate the people's time and effort surfing at their exchange. That's why I always highly recommend sites such as Traffic-Splash or Tony Tezak's site. I guess maybe that's why Traffic-Splash have over 100,000 members.

Seriously? do they really have that many members?

I use traffic exchanges to build my downline, which is. In my opinion the only reason why you should use them.
