|Heather Saucier of Houston, Texas currently works in corporate communications in the oil and gas industry. As Corporate Communications Advisor for an international oil and gas company, Heather advises management on matters such as media relations, crisis communications and public outreach strategies, in addition to writing for several of its internal and external publications. Prior to working for this company, Saucier also served as spokeswoman and manager of the communications Department and media for the Harris County Flood Control District. As Manager of the District’s Communications Department, Heather was responsible for overseeing four areas: Project Communications, Public Outreach, Internal Communications and Media. She worked with her team to develop strategies to promote the District using the media, websites, interactive application tools, public meetings and events, and collateral and promotional materials. She also ensured that all communication with the public and media was clear, consistent and effective. In addition to these responsibilities, Heather also oversaw the publication of a monthly internal newsletter for Harris District employees. As Media Manager, she proactively pitched positive stories to the media, earning approximately $2.5 million in coverage each year and also served as the District's spokeswoman for print, radio and television media.
Heather Saucier also has 16 years of experience in the journalism field, which she acquired upon graduating from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas in 1995. During her time in college, Heather became a member of the Communications Honor Society, English Honor Society, Philosophy Honor Society and Aquinas Honor Society. She graduated with honors and degrees in Communications and Philosophy. In her spare time, she enjoys running and yoga and has an interest in animal rescue.
