Wow, the business world has so many opportunities, online and off line. Which one do we choose? Does it matter as long as we make the money we want.

I would offer that it definitely matters! Who we work for and with says a lot about who we are; as we brand our self to the world. It reflects our character and helps others decide if they want to partner with us. That is why I like businesses that provide a place where we can, connect, talk and read what others write about and their choice of language.

I will share 7 ideas that will help choose the right business:

1. Discover who you are and what your passion is. What is it that you will do until the day you die because you love it so much, you will never stop? If you don’t know what it is search for it and start doing something you like and the passion will eventually reveal itself. If you are a Christ minded person, ask God and he will reveal it to you.

2. Find a company that has a foundation that embraces your passion. Notice I said foundation because it can look good on the surface but what is it like deep at the core. The foundation will likely tell you how future decisions will be made. The basis of the company should fully support your passion and values.

3. Find a company that also fits your current financial status and allows you to get the income you desire without going bankrupt.

4. Find a company that will train you not just about the product but also about the industry. If the company is the right fit for you and only trains on the product then find a company that will train on the industry and support your current company as well (That is what ASA does). You have to grow your knowledge if you are going to be successful in this industry.

5. Find your place in the company and work it, so that you can learn grow and develop.

6. Be prosperous in that place.

7. Assist the company to go to the next level. You are there for a reason, not just to make money but to make it the best company out there to help others like yourself, by giving back.

I am no expert on Blogging, but I do have fun writing them, so I will share from my heart which usually serves me well.
The first important factor is to know who we are and what our passion is. Secondly tap into that passion every way we can to stir it into action. Thirdly make sure our writings are based on that passion. The fourth thing to do is to find the audience that generally believes the same way and blog to them or you can start blogging and some will find you.
I find when I blog out of my passion it is very easy and it naturally seems to draw like-minded people; which has been called the Law of attraction. I believe another key is to be and stay well read. The more I read, the more I learn and the more I can incorporate some of the information into my writings.
For my Christian audience we have an additional support, our relationship with Christ. If we are connected to Christ like we should be; reading the word, praying and talking to him daily; he will give us the topic and a few key points or words and when we start writing it just flows.
Once we know the general theme of our writing, we should start writing, it will improve over time. If we wait for the perfect time we will never start. So start blogging and stay true to who God created you to be and write. If you don’t enjoy writing then I am sure God has gifted you to do something else, go find that and do that. If it has not been your thing and you know God called you to do it; then start writing anyway. The word says that God equips those he calls, so trust him to guide you through his Holy Spirit and it will all work out.

It is only when I write with the fire of enthusiasm burning in my heart that my writing impresses others favorably, and it is only when I speak from a heart that is bursting with belief in my message that I can move my audience to accept that message.”

I recently ended up in the hospital and although it is an environment I have worked in for 37 years, I would not recommended it to anyone unless absolutely necessary. I was very fortunate to have a 3 am friend that is always there when I need and I am there when she needs. She took me to the hospital and kept track of what was going on and visited frequently. She also communicated with her church and with my church for prayer support. I had friends that I forgot to communicate with because she was so supportive ad my needs were met. If you have to be in the hospital never go alone.
The same is true in business. We can’t build a successful business alone. I am not talking about just a group of names that you never or rarely hear from. I am talking about people like my 3 am friend; that talks to you often and there when you are in need. They encourage you when you are down, celebrate when you have made great accomplishments. Unfortunately many companies just want you to buy their product and bring them success and most of the members are not having success. I don’t know about you but I want to be part of a company that has my back when things get tough and are constantly finding ways to lead me down the path to success to every member willing to fully engage.
Don’t forget we can’t stand back and expect success to come to us. I would not have this great 3 am friend unless I had put in time to be a 3 am friend. Same with business, we need to engage in the basics on a continual basis and build on that to develop the momentum to get to the level of success we desire. Now that you have found your passion, that thing that you do or even think about doing that brings joy and a smile to your face. You wake up in the morning excited about getting out of bed and making it happen. Wow, doesn’t that feel good, and even if you run into a road block you are an Olympian in training and you will still push through and go for the gold.
So what is next? If you are in the business that connects to your passion and you are doing what you love, step it up and consider finding someone with the same passion and teach it to them.

If you are in the right business but not positioned where your passion is, find out where it is and find a way to get there and let nothing stand in your way. If it is not possible in the business you are in, you are likely in the wrong place. Your joy and happiness depends on you being in the right place.
If you know what your passion is but don’t know where to live it out. Then saturate yourself with researching everything thing you can about that passionate subject. Find those with similar passions and partner with them. Make sure they are quality people with integrity or you will have to fight battles that will drain your energy.

Whether you are right where you need to be or in the process identified above, give it all you have and don’t stop until you achieve success. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION, when your passion is engaged.

I have had the opportunity to see some of the Olympics and I am amazed at how much Olympians have to go through and do to be so successful. Some of the training I heard was 8 hours a day, every day. Why do they do it? Because they believe it is what they were created for and they feel more like themselves when they are doing it, than any other activity. This is so strong in their hearts and minds that if they suffer a significant injury and there is only a slight chance they will ever do that activity again; many turn that slight chance into victory. They do it because they found themselves a long time ago, and it gave them what they needed to climb the hill of success.

The difference between Olympians and ourselves is that we don’t think that type of dedication is needed to be successful in business. For those that say, “Yes I do and I have trained the many hours, but still I have not won the gold”. If that is the case then what is missing? Have you identified the event or events you are most passionate about. Did you focus and train on just those specific events.

I am talking about businesses that directly connects with your passion in life and not just because they make you money. If it is just about the money, you lose.
