MLM Then, MLM Now
My boyfriend hates multi-level/network marketing companies! I hate to even tell him I am involved in any because of the bad taste he has from an experience years ago. To be honest, I was not crazy about them myself. But not because I didn't think the compensation plans were good or honest. Not because I didn't think the products that were offered were any good.
In the past, network marketing meant something to me that I simply could not see myself getting on board with. I didn't want to be the person who made friends and family tense up for fear that I would want to try to invite them to a meeting. I didn't want to be the person who went up to complete strangers in elevators, on the subway, in the grocery store and handed them a tape, a CD, a DVD depending upon the era in which we were in, telling them to please listen or watch and then let me give them a call to see what they thought.
I was never a hard core sales person. I couldn't see myself doing these things or being this person. I went to a meeting once as a favor to a friend and was cornered by some people in her upline. I didn't like that. I couldn't see myself doing that nor could I see bringing people to something like that knowing that it would happen to them.
I was always a relationship type sales person. I built trust with customers and because of that I succeeded in sales. Earlier network marketers, to me anyway, needed to be more hard core than I could ever be.
But like I said earlier, I never thought that the multi-level compensation plans were bad. Most sales structures are multi-level. In a car dealership you have the sales person and sales manager. In most corporate settings there is a district or area manager. All of these "levels" are paid on the sales made by the sales people. This is multi-level.
Once I started looking to earn a real living online, at first I resisted the MLM companies. I still had that negative connotation in my head but once I really took the time to think about it and once I learned what people are now doing with these companies online, it all came together.
I can do these businesses now without involving a single person I know in my personal life. I never have to take flyers or DVDs out with me to local events to hand to people. The internet is my flyer, my meeting, my DVD presentation!
I can post video, I can post links to sites with lead capture and auto response systems in place. I can invite people to live webinars. This is the best! It's all the good stuff from MLM without the (in my opinion) yuck!
Visit my Faceplate for info on a couple of great MLM businesses that I promote online as well as some that are simple affiliate programs.

Sep 24th 2010 at 6:58 AM by ChuckBartok Kicking around marketing for the past 50 years has allowed experience in many Venues. MLM provides a platform for a certain "crossover" of the TRUE Business Mindset and the Employee Mindset. I enjoy Income form MLM efforts, but would never Rely on it for Sustenance requirements.
That can be only be assured form YOUR Businesses in your Control
