The new Regal GS CDC suspension technology analysis

Nov 3rd 2014 at 10:11 PM

The new Buick Regal GS has been listed in the end of last month, carrying HiPer-Strut front suspension, four-piston caliper brembo brakes, coilover suspension 19-inch Bigfoot and other equipment comeback. Mention Regal GS handling performance, I must mention is its continuous damping control system CDC (officially known as full-time active stabilization system). This system is exactly how it affects driving performance Regal GS?

How damping system work?

Before introducing the CDC suspension, for the convenience of everyone to read, we first take a brief look at the basic structure of the hanging bar. Automotive suspension I believe we all know that part of the suspension is connected to the vehicle body and wheel institutions, mainly acts on the body support and shock absorption. The sky is the damping effect of the suspension damping system.

Surely we all know, the damping system is mainly composed by damping springs and shock absorbers, cushioning effect for vehicles is accomplished by co-operation between the two. When the vehicle is traveling on uneven pavement, deformation (compression or tension) occurred after the spring by ground shock, vibration phenomena occur back and forth since the spring back into shape when, so will obviously affect the vehicle's comfort and handling. The shock absorber is to play a role in damping spring, inhibiting spring back and forth. In adopting such a bumpy road, they are not kept swinging vehicles.

● active suspension What is this?

Since the conventional shock absorbing suspension spring stiffness and the damping of the shock absorber is fixed, then the system can only showing a damping characteristic, the vehicle is obviously not satisfy the requirements under various road conditions, 323is Coilovers and thus to the different positioning of the car suspension tuning is different.
