Should Harassing Traffic Exchange Members Be Banned

Nov 25th 2011 at 7:27 AM

Traffic exchanges are supposed to be a place where members promote themselves and their business opportunities to others and to develop relationships. But what happens when you have members who try to control others by intimidation and harrassment because they can't get their way.

What purpose does it serve to create splash pages targeting a specific member with their picture and username all because they lost a surfing competition. How lame is that.

You can tell the character (or lack of character) a person has by what they promote and who they associate themselves with online. It shows a lack of respect for others.

Should that type of activity be encouraged? Is this what traffic exchange advertising is coming to?

Ask yourself a question. Is this the type of person that you would do business with? If so, be aware that you are known by the company you keep and that makes you guilty by association.

Should traffic exchanges members (and those that support them) be banned for intimidating and harrassing other members?

What do you think? Take a stand and let your voice be heard before this gets out of control.

Well, you're absolutely right that no type of intimidation and/or harassment should be tolerated. The reason why I asked you to be more specific is because within the structure of a traffic exchange itself, where everyone is submitting their splashes/LCPs/etc to be seen by the membership, where is the intimidation/harassment taking place? Is a member trying to force someone NOT to promote a particular product or program? Is a member getting negative feedback on what he's promoting or how he's promoting it? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so someone shouldn't be banned from expressing an opinion. And a member can't tell another member how to use their TE membership; if the TOS of the TE are being followed, I don't see where the intimidation or harassment comes into play. So that's why I asked if an incident occurred within a chat...obviously there's interaction in a chat where intimidating and/or harassing remarks could be made to another member.

No, I'm not aware of what's going on in the LFMTE chat. Regardless of what chat or TE it is taking place, it is wrong and should not be tolerated.

Hi Lawrence: You're going to have to be more specific as to what you're referring to. Where is the intimidation and harrassment happening? I'm thinking you're referring to a TE with a chat, because that would be the only place in a TE where there would be interaction between the members. Are you referring to what's happening right now in the LFMTE chat?
