Adding your brand to your Emails

Aug 21st 2010 at 8:46 AM

I am on my second cup of coffee and going through emails and noticing something that kills emails from being seen.

All I see is emails from..

admin or unknown sender or no-reply or support

I have found that if you tag your emails with your name or your site name, you get better results. Honestly, I would rather click on something that I know what it is then to open something that is mysterious and do not know who it came from.

I belong to over 100+ TE Sites and other adventures and I receive A LOT of emails and when someone puts their type of branding it stands out more and I can take a quick look and say " I know that site and I will surf there today" opposed to "hmmm...not sure where that email is from so I will pass on it".

I admit I did have my emails that way at one point, then I changed it and put my sites as the email tag. The responses from my emails doubled and activity went up, because YOU stand out from the admins, and unknown senders, etc. and members will see that and react.

If you happen to have your emails set up that way, change it to show either your name or your sites name, and test it out and see for yourself what a difference it can make.

Hi like what you say, I to get a lot of emails but what I am finding also is that even though they say your email will not get past on it will. Even with safe lists, and what I do not like is that I will get an email from a list I am on and when I open it I have to sign up to someone else just to read it. Ric

Sure true! Just posted a discussion of email marketing on my face, so it's interesting to read the comments here.

Never forget to let people know who you are. Especially when you are communicating to them... It's important!

I get those same emails too! I usually don't open them because sometimes they might be a virus. I usually click on something I know or something that catches my interest. Stella

Great article Jason. I agree, I tend to view ones that are from admin or support etc as ones that really aren't interested in me reading their emails as they come in.

I have my emails coming in every hour to keep on top of everything I need to and always open those from people who I want to hear from first. :-D Soroya
