4 Tips To Build Healthy Partnerships
I was out and about the other day doing my normal routine. Get up, get a few things done on the computer, then take in the beauty of the day while putting some food in my system.
When it dawned on me after talking to a really good friend of mine that I've recently got to know very well. That their is a fine line between personal and business relationships.
Also their are things that can be learned from both that can become interchangeable. It is very important to create long-lasting relationships as a business owner. Friendships, partnerships and relationships are crucial to the longevity of any successful organization, business, or even joint ventures.
A lot of times we try to go it alone thinking that our talent's will get us where we want to be, forgetting that any successful company has many parts operating simultaneously focusing on the common goal. Oftentimes, we as business owners prove to be unsuccessful in our pursuit to form adequate people to partner with. Here are a few pointers to assist in forming a healthy partnership:
1. Know The In's And Out's Of Your Craft: Learn all you can about your product or service. It is up to you to become the expert in your particular field. To become the most efficient and effective provider of your specialty. Build a mentoring relationship with a strong person specializing in your field of business or interest.
2. Identify Potential Partners: Find like minded individuals and companies that think the way you do, share the same goals and are taking similar steps to accomplishing those endeavors. You must identify individuals and companies that compliment what you teach or hold similar characteristics and qualities.
3. Create A "Win-Win" Situation For Both You And Your Partner: Never go to the negotiating table with a one sided opportunity where your the only person that will benefit from the venture. You must leave the table feeling good about the dialogue that you had as well as making the other partner feel good about the relationship built.
4.Provide Adequate Purpose: Provide a unique reason and purpose for partnering with individual's or companies. Be consistent in your pursuit for partnership; choose wisely. Their is an art to building partnerships and relationships. One must be consistent and diligent in their pursuit.
