When families go on Africa safaris, the children should be given extra care. The tour is all about comfort for each member of the family and not style. Africa has one of the harshest conditions that may prove tough for the kids. However, this should not be the reason that makes you leave your kids behind during a safari to untamed Africa.

You can take your kids to thousand places during an Africa safari in Kenya Safari and South African Safari. All you need it has your kids inoculated to protect them from tropical diseases such as malaria.

Kids are blessing. This is also true when it comes to safari. Some travel agencies give discounts for children. However, the kind of vacation you choose will depend on the age of your kids. In efforts to protect the security and safety of kids, most hotels have set rules concerning the activities that you can take part if you have kids. Here is a brief summary of what you need to know.

Children age and type of vacation

Whether you choose a beach vacation, not an adventurous one, you kid age determines a lot. What you need to consider are the ages and their interest. Do they appreciate nature? Are they excited about meeting new people or they would rather play in the sand?

Age and cost of vacation

The age of your kids has an implication on the cost of your safari. An infant, which is children of from birth to 2 years are in most hotels not charged. In some hotels, accommodation of infants is free but you pay for their meals. A child who is between 2 and 12 years may be not charged, or if charged, you get discounted prices. The aged between 12 and above is faced with controversies since they are considered young adults. They will have to pay in most hotels but at a reduced price.

Age restriction in some hotels

Some hotels do not accommodate children under given ages. They are mostly referred to as tree hotels. The environment in these hotels is dangerous for kids since most of the time animals came too close. They argue that very young children may scare the animal away if they cry or play.

Kids will force you to have a safer itinerary that does not involve rough activities. The type of transport will also be determined by the aged of the kids.

Children age and room of occupancy

Some hotels will accommodate children above a certain age. Not many hotels and lodge have family rooms. Most of the rooms are meant for two people. The hotel management may not be willing to have more than two beds in a room because it does not only have room limit but also comfort and privacy are compromised.

Having this in mind, you should research on the hotel policies that concerning children before booking. You should choose the destination in your Kenya Safari and South African Safari that will accommodate your kids while providing comfort at affordable price.
