Places to visit according to Andaman climate

Jul 14th 2012 at 5:25 AM

Andaman Islands lie in the Bay of Bengal several hundred miles away from the Indian main land and are composed of many large and small islands. Even though they are a part of the Indian republic, and being administered as a union territory they are far removed from any geographical similarity with Indian subcontinent. And this is the specialty of these islands. It shares the same climatic latitude with many places in India and has similar climatic zone. But the difference in geography makes a whole lot of difference.

Andaman climate is often considered by many tourists before they plan their trip here. This is mainly because of the absence of a widely known place in the proximity with big city facilities so that they can easily find the weather conditions there in real time. There are smart phone applications which can tell you the exact temperature, humidity and other climatic factors associated with important places. Such real-time data is not available in the case of places like the Islands which are low on population and lack industrial presence. The data is available for places like Port Blair.

Best season in Andaman is between October and May. The time between June and September is not advisable to visit the Islands as the sea get really rough and there are safety issues. The season also brings in thunderstorms and heavy rains which makes sightseeing difficult to tourists. So the rainy season is the off season here. The temperature here is usually between 24 and 32 degree centigrade in the summer season which ranges between February and May. Right after the summer, the rain starts making the sea a dangerous untamable beast. The winter season here is not unbearably cold with temperature ranging from 20 to 28 degree Celsius. This makes it best season for sightseeing. Occasional rains are expected here in these islands in any season.
