Thinking of what to do with the family over Christmas break? If you’re struggling for ideas, here are some to consider if you want to keep your kids from suffering through boredom!

Partyman World – Basildon

What sounds better than a multi-level play structure, featuring ball ponds, air cannons, football pitches and comfy seating for the parents to relax? It’s also a good option for those thinking of booking a birthday party there. Apart from the play area, they have four specially designed party rooms which you can use for the entire duration of the party.

Kids Kingdom – Southend

Kids Kingdom has over 8,000 square feet of play area including a 14ft vertical drop slide, a 14ft ‘Jelly Mountain’ as well as other fun and challenging obstackle course climbs, race runs and the other usual stuff. There are also smaller facilities for toddlers, but still as colourful and exciting and allows plenty of space for crawling and toddling.

Southend Pier Museum – Southend

The Southend Pier Museum gives you a full insight into the interesting past of the longest pleasure pier in the world. Exhibits feature many items of notable memorabilia such as an original restored working Pier signal box, a restored ex Pier Toastrack tram from 1890 and train carriages circa 1949 as well as extensive pictorial displays featuring the Pier from 1930 and period costumes.

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary – Brentwood

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary cares for a variety of animals including horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks, and cats and just recently they’ve taken in smaller animals like rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas. So pop by if your kids are into animals!

Sealife Adventure – Southend

There’s no better adventure than the one that takes place beneath our planets ocean waves. Visit the Sealife Adventure and broaden your children’s horizons and show them the wide range of sealife such as sharks and tropical fish – all under one roof. You can also partake in the fascinating talks and presentations that their aquarists give.
