Jul 5th 2019 at 5:19 AM

Shoreditch is undoubtedly one of London’s most exciting and vibrant neighbourhoods, with a diverse and fascinating array of innovative inspiration wherever you look. It’s the perfect place to visit when you need a little creative boost – as you’ll come across the hottest new trends for everything from the latest gourmet snacks, to emerging fashion looks.

Read on to find out more about what makes Shoreditch so special, and what you can see and do here.

You’ll find art everywhere you look

Art in East London isn’t confined to gallery walls, although there are plenty of exciting independent galleries to visit in the area. Instead, you’ll find the hottest new works right on the streets, as the neighbourhood has some of the best street art in London. It’s been renowned to attract leading names including Banksy and other major street artists, and there is new work emerging everyday.

Leave your car with Montcalm Shoreditch parking and head out on an insightful walking tour instead, where your guide will tell you more about the history of the area, and the fascinating versions of street art all around it.

It’s a goldmine for fashion lovers

If the generic nature of most high street brands fails to excite you, head eastwards to Shoreditch to shop your heart out in its fantastic boutiques and vintage markets. There are plenty of emerging new designers and brands setting up shop in the area, providing you with lots to discover and add to your wardrobe.

If you’re after something more unique then check out the massive labyrinth of vintage gems in the Brick Lane Vintage Market. With over a dozen sellers under one roof, you’ll find vintage pieces dating back to the early 20th century, right through to the 80s and 90s. It’s impossible not to come away feeling inspired with a new look.

It’s packed with delicious food

East London is packed to the brim with fantastic options for food, from tempting street food and tantalising snacks, to well-loved eateries that have made their mark on the area.

For a true East London staple, visit Beigel Bakes – the traditional store that serves up thousands of beigels, freshly made on site, every single day. Open till late, it's a great place to head to when you’ve had a big night out, and need a tasty pick me up.

During the weekend, Brick Lane’s regular market is in full swing, and with that comes dozens of food vendors, each offering a rich variety of mouth-watering delights, from fresh coconut juices, sizzling Indian street snacks, guilt-free vegan treats and old school classics.

You’ll find the most creative places to enjoy a night out

Shoreditch has a fantastic nightlife scene, and it’s marked by the neighbourhood’s characteristic creative spirit. While there are some top clubs in the area where you can expect a more typical night out, including the renowned XOYO and Fabric, you’ll also find more fun and quirky places to head to for a drink or two.

If you fancy getting a little competitive with friends, check out Bounce, the iconic ping-pong bar, where you can enjoy a few games alongside drinks and snacks. And if you feel like getting crafty, The Book Club offers some unique workshops and events by night.
