Climb it for the Climate Project!
I am sure that not many people would turn down the chance to actually hike all the way to the base of Mount Everest! Well, I certainly have a thing for mountain climbing and have therefore decided to embark on the climb it for the climate project. There are 20 people in the expedition and the main aim of the project is to raise some funds for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and also the Himalayan Climate Initiative.
The funds collected and raised from the project will facilitate the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, to train thousands of people. The expected funds that we want to raise will be around $100,000 which will then be spent on creating more than 200 new jobs for young women in Nepal. I chose the climb it for the climate project because it really touched my heart, due to the experience of mountain climbing the chance to make a difference by raising money for a good cause.
You can also make a difference by ensuring that you are one of the 20 people who will hike to the base camp of Mount Everest or you can start donating your money to the Hamri Bahini project in Nepal. This will also allow young Australians with the opportunity to work on a local adaptation project as well as see climate changes first hand from the base of Mount Everest.
