Castro Street Fair

Sep 29th 2015 at 10:57 AM

The Castro Street Fair is situated in the heart of San Francisco's Castro District, at the connection of Market & Castro Streets and the nearby area. The Castro Street Fair is an open street festivity that was started by Harvey Milk in the year 1974. Numerous local performers, sellers, craftspeople, and administrations line the lanes and have a good time at the diversity of the neighbourhood. Platforms with live showbiz and dance stages can be found all over the fairgrounds.

The Fair is a not for profit society and all profits go straight to the generous causes that appear significant to the Castro community. In addition, the Fair funds the rainbow flag that flies over the connection of Market & Castro. The fair is usually held on the first Sunday in October in the Castro neighbourhood, the main gay neighbourhood and social centre in the city. The fair reorganized the association and joined with local charities to gather gate contributions and partner with groups at the beverage and beer booths to raise money for those charities. Get a taxicab San Francisco to arrange a pick-up and drop at the Castro Street Fair.
