4WD Accessories for Your 4WD Vehicle

May 29th 2014 at 12:38 AM

Your 4WD car is special for you. Obviously you want to give the best to your SUV vehicle. There are a large number of 4WD accessories available in the market and you can add them to your car for making your vehicle a sophisticated one. Here are some SUV accessories that you would love to add to your car:

  • ROO BAR

It is a front bar that provides protection to the vital fluid heat exchangers and it is also essential for bush-travel, no matter what the pedestrian safety lobby says. It is a bar that is joined with an airbag triggering requirements and is also pedestrian friendly and should be present on every 4WD that ventures off the beaten track.

The 4WD has a relatively unprotected front end with the air conditioner condenser, radiator, and intercooler and sometimes with transmission oil cooler which are all mounted just behind the piece of a thin plastic that is laughingly called as the bumper bar.

  • CARGO BARRIER

With the few years that have passed, we have seen some horrific accidents, there is no point in buying a four or five safety rated 4WD accessories with multiple airbags if you are going to get smacked at the back of the head by unrestrained freight flying in forward direction.

It is essential that all cargo barriers are restrained but most of the wagon cargo hooks are not capable of withstanding the load that has been imposed by a collision even when the cargo straps are. A compliant cargo barrier can stop all the heavy objects that are moving forward in an accident and can contribute to the body strength of the vehicle in case of any roll-over.

  • BACKUP BATTERY

The most irritating voice that you can hear when you are on your own remote bush area is the sullen click of the starter motor which is not getting required current from the starting battery. With the use of 4WD backup battery starting of these batteries can be slightly drained and any hiccup in the charging regime can cause the cumulative draining effect that will finally give you a flat battery.

  • TYRE PRESSURE MONITOR

This is actually a legal requirement for all the new vehicles in USA and it should be done in every part of the world. This system will warn the driver about any leakage in the tyre and will allow any early repair before the leak will cause any severe pressure drops and overheating of the tyres.
