Porter Cable 4212

Below is just a small guide for how to turn an old mobile Shabby chic style. First of all, necessary premise, the furniture will go under your hands apprentice artist would not be of better quality. Some antiques, as they may seem distant and heavy on your taste, in my humble opinion do not fit this type of treatment. You can rearrange the house, making them the protagonists in a neutral-toned furniture or white (but if you do not like you could maybe sell) Anyway you should have a touch-proof error for having the courage to risk damaging valuable furniture. So my advice is to dig in the attic, basement, in an abandoned farmhouse, in the markets .. repurpose old furniture. We propose three methods: Porter Cable 4212

1) Shabby-version 1: You start rubbing them well for your mobile / trunk / drawer / frame / etc. and removing with a soft powder residues. If the color of the wood was too light you must also pass a mordant. Now dipingetelo acrylic paint with a white or ivory (powder pink version is also interested or cream). Prior to protect the paper web by any air not to paint and which can not be disassembled. Allow to dry. Rub a candle in the places you want to wear out and spend another coat. The color will tend to come off in these points. Once dry, gently smooth finished (or with more force if you want to accentuate the effect Shabby) with steel wool moistened the points of greatest wear. To complete the work, protect your furniture by wiping the special wax with a soft cloth. [Home Chic, Shabby Chic style secrets, Year III # 17 - two months from October to November 2010]

2) Shabby-version 2: Sand the cabinet with a sandpaper. Pass a white candle on the surface, insisting on the edges. Acrylic Painting with white / ivory / pink powder. Once dry sandpaper go here and there, on the corner and around the knobs / handles to create worn spots not very large. Sprinkle the powder with a big brush.
