CDs are one of the longest living storage media in the world. Many people use CDs to store essential data, such as audio, video and other data. A CD has many sectors that are used to store the data. One of the most prominent things about CDs is their cost-effective nature. CDs were never expensive, which has resulted in a huge popularity of these amazing storage devices. CDs are used with the help of CD-ROM that are installed on the computers and laptops. Moreover, CD players are also used to play CDs, but you can only play audio and video files in them. It didn’t take much time for CDs to become popular throughout the world.

Manufacturing of CD

The CD is made from small polycarbonate beads, which is a solid component and doesn’t break easily. A CD don’t even get corrupted when coming in contact with the liquids such as water. Perhaps water can improve the quality of CDs and reduce the scratches as well. CD single 10.4mm is the most popular CD types and if you are going to buy a CD today or tomorrow, then most probably you will buy a 10.4mm CD only. CDs are used for storing games and movies to government’s classified files, therefore you can imagine the necessity of CDs in the world.

The only drawback of CDs is that once the data is written in them, it can’t be edited or erased, unless you are using a rewritable CD.There is a price difference between rewritable CD and a normal CD, so if you want to buy the former one, then you have to pay more price. A CD comes in two types of packaging, standard and creative. In standard packaging, standard CD jewel case, clamshells, slim jewel case, ejector case, plastic wallets and single DVD case are used. Whereas in creative packaging, printed card wallets, digipaks, 3 packs, mail packs and slipcases are used. All these are created from cards and can be printed, laminated and embossed. CDs have really changed the way of storing data and also made our lives a lot simpler.
