Injection molding is a type of manufacturing process in which parts are produced by injecting heated materials such as rubber, molten metal, glasses, plastics, elastomers or thermosetting polymers into a mold. In the injection stage, the raw material in the form of pellets is then fed into the injection molding machine. During this process the plastic material is melted using heat and pressure into a molten plastic which is then injected into the mold where the built up pressure holds the material. The fourth stage involves cooling the molten plastic thereby allowing it to solidify into the shape of the desired part. Once the cooling is sufficient, the cooled material is ejected from the mold using the ejection system.
