JVC NXPN7 Portable Audio System (With Dual IPod Docks) Review

Nov 12th 2012 at 8:49 PM

Specifications: The JVC NXPN7 portable audio system is portable sound system that comes with 2 built in iPod docks (yes two!). It also doubles as a FM/AM player (45 radio station presets) and an alarm clock. It comes with 2 speakers that produce a total of 7.5 watts in audio output. The 2 iPod docks is an extremely handy feature. Most of us have more than 2 iPod devices (I have an iPhone and an iPod) so you can charge and play both of them at the same time. In terms of connectivity, it comes with an audio line-in, composite video output and a headphone jack.

Design: The design of the JVC NXPN7 portable audio system one of my favorite features. Like many JVC devices, it looks like a serious sound machine. It is mostly black with silver edges, giving it a professional look. All the http://vimeo.com/53383152 buttons are located on the front, below the speakers. It measures at 12.5 x 6.1 x 5.8 inches and weighs at just 5.7 pounds. It also comes with a tiny (credit card sized) infrared remote control that is quite straightforward to use.

Features & Performance: For it's price and size, the JVC NXPN7 portable audio system delivers excellent audio quality. The audio playback was crisp and rich, even at higher volumes. There is also the 'Sound Turbo' mode that gives the audio a little extra bass. It was even powerful enough to be used outdoors. On the downside, this model doesn't support batteries so you will always need to connect it to a power source. All in all, the JVC NXPN7 portable audio system proves to be an excellent sound system for its class (it currently costs around $196 each). The 2 built-in iPod docks and superb sound quality are own their own good enough reasons for you to get yourself one of these.
