In addition to the current firmware with the amazingly accurate recording of the track were particularly impressed me the opportunity to plan in the supplied software "training center" training (eg interval training). The procedure is itself clearly the most complex, nested steps: I know always in training, what to do. And if I'm too slow times, equivalent to the prompting message "faster" or at rest "more slowly".
I often use the opportunity to cards I put together routes that I would expire then use the Forerunner - this is especially important in unfamiliar cities or cycling (separately available bicycle racks) great to have a look at the map, id while walking / driving R. unnecessary.
The measurement of heart rate occurs smoothly and precisely - not unlike my Polar RS200sd Clock, chest strap transmits to the Forerunner - I think - even enjoyable.
A small deduction is made because of the desolate height measurements based solely on GPS data, barometer measurements would be more accurate since, so this feature is currently not in use, unfortunately (but perhaps even helping a firmware update in the near future)!
Garmin eTrex 30
All-rounder at a bargain price
The Garmin Etrex series has always been one of the most popular GPS units for hikers and bikers. Even the youngest of the family, the Garmin eTrex 30-1A with enthusiastic reception, perfect and harmonious display equipment. Routing is missing any more than a compass and altimeter. Even more: In the low price of 259 € is even included a map (a part of Germany, for example, Texas). Disadvantages? Zooming in particular raster maps could be done faster. See, however: the very frugal battery consumption.
