Configuring Your Netgear Wifi Range Extender on Mywifiext Local

Mar 12th 2020 at 5:04 AM

All Netgear wifi range extenders are configured on the local web site mywifiext.net or setup by the WPS method. This site is a local web site and it can be easily accessed after connecting your wifi range extender with your computer with the help of the Ethernet cables. This is however not an ordinary site which will open like the other internet sites, it will be available only when the extender is connected with the device.

What is Mywifiext Local

The mywifiext local is a site that is specially designed for Apple devices like iPhones, iPads, Mac OS X or iOS. The users of these devices will be able to access the setup page of the extender via the mywifiext.net site but can configure their extender on mywifiext local web site very easily. You can use any browser to access this site including Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet explorer, Microsoft edge, Opera mini, Safari or any other. It is compatible with all web browsers and works well with any as long as they are of the latest version. Mywifiext local will give you the same results as the main mywifiext web site and you will have to go over the same setup steps to configure the wifi range extender. All you will then need to do is open your apple device, connect your extender and go to the mywifiext.local website and see the steps below to set it up.

Setup on Mywifiext Local

Setting up your extender on this site is very simple and you just need to be careful while installing it, whether you use the manual method or the WPS method or taking the IP address path. If you face any kind of errors or issues you can reset your extender and try again but if it doesn’t work yet then you can call the toll free number 1-855-394-0444 and get the professional help from the tech team who will guide you properly through the whole setup. You can see the setup steps below –

1. Place your wifi range extender near your main router

2. Connect the extender with the apple device

3. Power on the extender after plugging it in and see if the green power LED is on. If it is not on then you should check all your wired connections and reboot the extender

4. Now open your device and launch a web browser of your choice

5. Go to the address bar and type http://mywifiext.local

6. On the login page fill the default credentials in the given field and press login

7. Create a Netgear account if you haven’t already done so

8. Now you are on the extender setup page

9. See the prompts and instructions given there to setup the wifi range extender. Follow the steps to finish the setup

After you have completed the setup of the extender, move it to a location where it gets good wifi signals from the router. Do not keep it in the dead zones as then it will not transmit wifi signals there. It needs to be in the middle of the router and the dead zones or the wifi enabled device/s, preferably close to the router in order to catch the wifi signals of the router and retransmit it to all the areas of the house or office.
