Aug 31st 2014 at 6:23 AM

The camper trailers are mostly used by the people on Off roads and therefore the sustain lots of damages during a single camping trip. The modern camper trailers also come with lots of features and accessories that make the timely maintenance of the trailers as must. There are many things in a camper trailer that need to be taken care for during and after the camping trip. The most damaged part of the camper trailer is none other than their chassis. The camper trailers come with a raw built chassis to support the entire weight of the trailer on its wheels. During the camping trip, the camper goes through lot of terrains, freeway, up climb hills, bumps and poor roads, therefore the chassis always sustain severe damages during the camping.

In order to keep the chassis in the best shape, it is required a maintenance and regular safety checks. The iron axle and shafts are two of the most important parts of the chassis, therefore they are more prone to get damaged frequently. Make sure that after every road trip, you must take your camper trailer to a professional mechanic and get it completely inspected for the possible damages in the main Axel and connecting shaft of the chassis. Most of the times the axle shaft could sustain lots of cracks and holes because of the continues pressure of the trailer during the off road bumps and obstructions.

Apart from the chassis another most exposed and likely to get damaged part of the trailer is its suspensions. The suspensions of a trailer are just like the suspension of any other trailers. Most of the camper trailers for sale have the traditional Mc Pherson Sturt type stiff suspensions which are very handy for the off road vehicles, but as per their continues usage they also get sturdy and hard and even sometimes get damaged. It is very important to get these suspensions checked and inspected professionally before and after every camping trip. These suspension required regular oiling and cleaning of their suspension shaft, so that they can provide prolong benefits and comfort. There are many camper trailers that come with the hydraulic suspension which are more comfortable and durable than the regular suspensions. Though, the hydraulic suspension required their gas to be refilled and replaced at least every six months doesn’t matter trailer is been frequently used or not.
