You Can Create Any Life You Want

Aug 16th 2010 at 2:36 PM

You can create any life you want but not all at once.  You must, however, utilize your philosophy and time to achieve this.

The law of nature is, Do the thing, and you shall have the power.  But they who do not the thing have not the power. -Ralph Waldo Emerson- 1841

Take two seemingly similar people and give them both the exact same opportunity and one will have remarkable success and the other does not. It is not a matter of luck, timing, fate or intelligence.  It is about the attitudes behind the actions.

Your philosophy creates your attitude, your actions and your results.  Your philosophy creates your life!

Many people look for success in the wrong places. Some look for the amazing "quantum leap".  That is nothing more than a crap shoot for lottery ticket.  Remarkable successes do not happen that way.  They happen through the "slight edge" philosophy, which is....little steps, compounded over time, make the difference.  The things that don't look dramatic, don't look like they even matter, are the very things that will make the difference.  They can make all the difference!

Every moment of your life, you face a choice!  Is it positive or is it negative?  The difference between success and failure, between achieving the quality of life you want and settling for something less, lies 100 percent in which of those little "insignificant" actions you choose.

Everything you need to do to transform your life is easy to do. Simple little disciplines, done consistently, will add up to the very biggest accomplishments.  Why is it that so many people are unhappy, unhealthy, and financially bound?  Every action that is easy to do is also easy to NOT do.  After all, if you don't do them, it won't kill you, bankrupt you, or destroy your career or relationships. At least not today! What's more, not doing it is more comfortable.

But that judgment compounded over time, will kill you, ruin your relationships, destroy your chances for success.  That you can count on!

So make right choices!  You won't see the results immediately, maybe not a year from now, but you will see results that come from small steps in the right direction. The truth is, what you do matters. What you do today matters.  What you do every day matters.

Attitude matters. Understanding what is at the heart of what you feel and believe is the key to achieving what you want in life.  You create your destiny with you actions.  But your actions are determined by how you see the world.  A positive philosophy turns into a positive attitude, which turns into positive actions, which lead to positive results.

You are the most influential person in your life.  There is nobody more effective at supporting your success--and nobody more effective at undermining it.

Use the moment.  Using the moment means taking control of your life in the moment-today.  It means not blaming the past or worrying about the future.  The only time you have is the present.  Always remember this.  What comes next in your life is your call.  You have the power if you will only take full responsibility for yourself.

Men succeed when they realize that their failures are the preparation for their victories.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson-

Hi Betty, Thank you for this article. It rings true for all of us. Sometimes we are looking for something so significant and it is just gradual. I think many of us are looking for instant win and gratification and if it doesn't happen then we quit. Not quitting means the automatic win though it make take a while to get there. Hope you are having a great week! Jennifer
