The Seal or the Mark - your life depends on it

Mar 9th 2012 at 5:18 AM

In this present time of satanic rule on earth there are many teachings floating on the net which try to mislead people and give false hope. Many of those teachings are based on the following of external traditions. There even are teachings which claim that the mark of the beast is “just a tag”, which can be accepted as just that.

Given all the misleading teachings, we have to make sure where we stand. So let’s take a deeper look.

The Mark of the Beast Whether it will be an implanted ID chip or something else, Satan is too clever to try and force it on people. He knows about our free will and won’t openly go against it, thus exposing himself. Instead he’ll use bribery to get past any barrage. So the argument “if enforced, it’s ok to take it, it’s just a tag” falls flat right there. And so does the argument that you can still serve God even after accepting the mark. You can’t, you can’t serve two masters.

The Seal of God The word “seal” only appears once in the Old Testament, more often in the New Testament. If we consider a seal being visible, we find the word “mark” or “sign” used in the Old Testament in connection with covenants made between God and his people.

Cain was the first man to receive a mark from God to protect him from being killed, (Gen 4:15) but it’s not called a covenant sign. The first covenant sign/mark (or seal) of God was given to confirm His promise to Noah to never again use a flood to destroy the earth and everything on it: “I have set my rainbow in the clouds and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” (Gen 9:13)

The second covenant sign/mark from God appears in Gen 17:11 – “You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.” This covenant pertained to the grant of the land of Canaan, which God promised to give to Abrahams’ descendants, who follow him in this. The commandments/laws given to Moses on Mount Sinai contain the conditions to be followed in order to receive that promise. ”Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.” The descendants of Abraham, however, broke that covenant, as is meticulously documented in the old writings.

So God sent prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah, who announced a New Covenant to come: Jer 31:31, Isa 42, Isa 53 and many more. Then God sent his son to the tenants of his land, Israel, to the covenant people, to release them from their oppression by “statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by”. But they killed him, as they had killed those sent before him.

With the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, the New Covenant, which had been announced many times previously, came into effect, as the letter to the Hebrews (9: 15-28) clearly explains.

The new covenant sign/mark from God appears in Ac 1:5 as the baptism with the Holy Spirit, the gift from God, for which the Believers had to wait. “Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession--to the praise of his glory.”(Eph1:14) “He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”(2Cor 1:22) John calls it the anointing from the Holy One (1Jn2: 20) and in 1Jn 3:24 he says “And this is how we know that he (Jesus Christ) lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us”.

The Necessity of this Guarantee The disciples had to wait in Jerusalem for the gift of the Holy Spirit to be poured out. (Ac 1:4) In Ac 8:14-16 Peter and John were specifically dispatched to believers in Samaria so  “"that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them. ” It is part of the full armor of God (Eph 6:11) in the warfare against all evil forces in this world.

This Gift from God – His Power - is FREE Gods’ seal of ownership comes as a free gift. It is accepted by Faith on Gods’ Word. Nobody has to accept this gift, this seal, it isn’t forced on any one. But those who by faith received this gift, know that this guarantee is worth more than heaps of gold. The world cannot receive it and will never know its real value. To the world it is utter foolishness.

The sealing of the 144,000 Now what about the sealing of the 144,000 in the book of Revelations, who have the name of God written on their foreheads? Much has been written about this. Some even say there are two different groups of 144,000. Fact is that in Rev 7 only 144,000 people from the 12 tribes of Judah receive that physical seal as “servants of our God”. So that physical seal, once again, pertains only to Israelites. In my view it pertains to those who followed ALL the Laws of Moses, but did not receive the Holy Spirit. This seal seems necessary since not all who are circumcised keep ALL the laws of Moses. I do not claim this explanation to be from the Holy Spirit, though, so I could be wrong here.

I I sincerely pray that God may give you His light on this matter. Grace to all who devotedly love our lord Jesus Christ.
