Steps To Greater Creativity

Have you ever finished a fantastic book called success in 10  steps and wondered how the author could possibly have invented all the ideas that went into it?  Or perhaps there is someone at work who somehow come up with ways to solve problems which no one else ever considered.

The answer is they used their creativity.  You don't have to be a writer, a composer, or an artist to be creative.  You just need to remove your rose-colored glasses  and see the world  in new ways.

Think about yourself and your past

You will be surprised how much this will open up your mind to new ideas.  By thinking about your experiences, you can uncover new facts or new relationships among different data you've collected, which might lead to greater ideas.  Also, you can relieve youself of any inhibitions about creativity you might have buried in your past.  Maybe a parent, teacher or sibling told you wouldn't amount to anything.  that opionion of yourself is not true and you don't have to accept it.

Don't get trapped in a role

If  you select a define role, such as a doctor with a white coat and stethosope around his neck, you might find it harder to break away and become the director of a world renowned hospital.  Leave yourself open and flexible.

Think like a child

Have you ever set in a chair starring out the window and wondered what it would be like to be a doctor at a prestigious hospital?  If imagination worked for a little girl, it can work for you. Children thrive on high doses of imagination.  It allows them to see the world in new ways, and try different activities.  In order to open up your own imagination, do something you've never done before or just sit and daydream .

Think on those things that are just, pure and lovely which will leave yourself open to all manner of fresh ideas.

Write down your ideas

Don't weary if the ides are are crazy, just get something down on paper.  You can judge it later.

Confront your frustrations

Sometimes, creativity don't flow, just don't sit there and stew, confront it.  See if you can figure out what the hinderance is and then write about it.

Change your surroundings

If you are still having problems, go to another room, take a walk, listen to soothing music or do a few chores.

Analyze your ideas and don't worry about your mistakes.  Failure happens to the best of us.  Write out your ideas in great detail, look for the flaws and then try to come up more creative ideas.

There is no excuse for not being creative.  It doesn't matter if you are old and  decrepit, you can still be creative.
