Sport Training - Even Less Can Sometimes Be More

Mar 14th 2020 at 12:06 AM

In the general awareness of athletes and many coaches, training is a simple mechanical quantitative matter. So many and so many kilometers to run, swim or cycle will result in such and such performance. Taking the training as a guide for the development of an athlete (both physical and mental), it is clear that the length of the instructions is not the decision but the information contained in it. In the most general perspective, the question of sport training can be considered as an information problem. There is a source of information, information itself and its recipient. The source of information is the training unit, in common speech "training",information is the processes that took place during the training unit and the recipient is the organism of the trained individual. Please don't be fooled by the seeming heterogeneity of the session participants - even if the training is an intangible process and the information and the recipient are physically one body, it will be beneficial to understand how the training process works and create such a structure and let it pass through, read this article.

Performance is not a simple sum of load

The first thing to emphasize is that the resulting performance is not the sum of all three factors (performance = source + information + recipient), but the product of all three factors (performance = source x information x training). This means that with a properly tuned combination, even small input factors multiply and the resulting performance can be high, while any of the three factors is zero or close to zero and the result is zero or close to zero. That we cannot substitute the weakness of one factor by any great others.

When two do the same...

The better and clearer the information is, the greater the chance of a good response. Not only the volume of transmitted data is important, but its content is important. A million letters does not automatically mean good reading.

For sport training, an enormous number of biochemical processes must take place throughout the body. Those you have read about on this site or elsewhere make up only a tiny fraction of them. They are induced by training - transmitter, but it does not mean that they are completely dependent on him. Until the same training in a biochemical machine of two different individuals, it can proceed diametrically differently. A 100-kilometer trip at an average speed of 28 km / h is a compensatory aerobic drive for a professional, while for an untrained beginner an anaerobic time trial.

Individual characteristics of an athlete

Here we find the second part of the process - information. The fact that certain bodily processes (information) went as we had assumed when we designed the training (transmitter) is still not closing the entire information flow. Only after the action has taken place does the information reach the recipient, the third equally important phase of receipt and processing. Whether the recipient organism decides to deal with the information is again dependent on the information itself, but not only on it. The individuality of the receiver here again adds its handful to the mill. Absolutely identical training, which induced exactly identical biochemical reactions in two different individuals, may have a diametrically different effect on the resulting performance. In the acceptance and utilization of the training load, the individual characteristics of the athlete always have the last word. Not only the long-term or permanent ones, such as talent or training, but also the immediate ones, such as fatigue or mental condition. This implies several points refuting the most common training myths.

There is no perfect sports training and sports training plan as a guaranteed guide to success. There are only better and worse procedures, but always have to take into account the individuality of the athlete. You can learn more about sport to follow variety sport news site.

There is no plan as a timed timetable without feedback. Impulse evaluation and response is an essential part of the sport training process. The task of the trainer (whether as a single person or as a competitor training himself) is therefore not to recite one learned poem all around, but to solve situations, work with the transmitter to generate information leading to the desired goal..

The volume is not the only information brought by the training of the athlete's body, but only a small part of it. Often it is even a carrier wave, carrying only noise. The complete and complex training structure determines the information provided.
