I am an entrepreneur that is trying to harness the internet as a way to help supplement my income while pursuing my academic needs. I am in my third year of a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and about 18 months away from completing the degree and finally finishing college.

Current pursuits are to do corporate training & learning development but also teach in the classroom.

The majority of my work experience has been in the service industry - primarily in food service and hospitality & tourism. I have nearly 20 years of total sales experience but teaching and training development is where my strengths are.

Please feel free to share my Faceplate with others so I can develop a network with you and other aspiring individuals today.

Semester-Ending Update

Nov 22nd 2010 at 8:18 PM

This is just a brief update as to what is going on outside the world of internet marketing. I am currently a third-year doctorate student at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville campus. This coming spring, I will be taking my last full semester of courses and taking the all-mighty and important comprehensive exam. This is the last step before going to the dissertation stage and have to write a very long paper. Then, after this monster, I will be done with college once and for all.

In case you're curious, the dissertation is going to focus on the Top 50 Business Schools in the country and their online MBA programs. WIth these programs, I am going to analyze how they have the MBA program setup. Basically, is the program cohort-based (start together, end together) or a free-for-all system (start at the same time but finish as you complete it). The study will be quantitative in nature and I will look at attrition rates and compare them with the way they have the program set. With this data, I will attempt to come up with reasons as to why the numbers are higher/lower than other schools compared in the study. I know that it may sound like a lot of stuff and may be a bit dry - but this is a study that has not been done before at this scale. Should be interesting and fun.

Updates as they come on down the pike.
Doug
