How to Prepare For the College Interview

Apr 21st 2014 at 5:28 AM

Since the competition in the education realm is increasing day by day, colleges have made their enrollment procedures tougher. They do not want just any other student to join their prestigious institution. The better and popular the college is the tougher will be its enrollment procedure. Students have to be prepared for admission application, examination, group discussion and even the interview.

Out of all these, the college admission interview is the essential part of the enrollment procedure. It is an opportunity for the student to show that he is good enough for the college and will fit into the culture and traditions of the institution. It is your only chance to impress the college representative personally.

Most of the colleges conduct interviews right after finalizing all the basic admission procedures. In case you are not sure, whether your college has it or not, it is essential for you to contact abroad study consultant in Delhi or your education guidance counselor and find out about it. You can ask about the basic tips for the preparation. Here are some helpful points for your college interview:

· Show interest in college: no college wants to take such student who is not at all interested in it. They want such students who can contribute to its reputation and grow with it. If you will not show interest in the college, it can affect your candidature. Be prepared to face questions like why this college?

Why do you want to go for abroad education? What can you bring to the college (qualities and not anything in your luggage)? How will you contribute to the reputation of the college? You can even go through some sample questions available on internet and with overseas education consultant in Delhi and prepare effective answers for them.

· Your past: the high school, teachers, subjects and even your hobbies or any sport you played in high school can be a part of the interview. Make sure to get them through. If you do not remember the name of your teachers, it is time to know them. You should not try to fake your high school experience since it will show up in interview. Be truthful and confident about your answers.

· Future goals: if you have not planned, it is time to give it a thought. The interviewer may ask you about your future goals or anything that inspired you to join the college. You should have a good answer prepared for the same.

Sit with your abroad study consultant in Delhi and discuss about the possible questions that might come up in the interview. Practice it well.
