help ONE Series:How To Really Enter Into The Kingdom Of GOD
Really want to know what true christianity is? Then visit:
"...come out from her unless you share in her plagues..." Revelations ch 18:4
I have being studying the Word Of GOD, the Aramaic Peshitta today, not the Holy Bible (for different reasons) for as a devout? christian, I believe I am obliged to study it in order to fully understand what GOD through the scriptures tells us man is really like and why he is in the condition he is in.
Like most I have attended a local church, listened to a sermon or two, and wholly believed, all said as all truth. I have been "programmed", to get all emotional when certain organ music is played in the background, and accept key words and phrases as Gospel, even though they are spoken in a style of language centuries dead. Then I am encouraged to go out into the world and talk to others and bring them back, to fill the pews...and donate 10% of their earnings,50% of their other monies "planting or sowing an enormous DONATION seed", in exchange for their...errr...their salvation...
Then like chicken little, the sky fell on my head! It rained bricks until I suddenly woke up, and realized, I am being spoon-fed the biggest dump truck load of deceptions!
Today I also read an e-book called "The Gospel according to JESUS" By John MacArthur, which totally made it clearer than mud, that I was being duped!
I'd like to give you an extract of that e-book if I may...(Better to find or buy a copy yourself as many other chapters of it back up the excerpt).
But first I'd like to ask you a question...
Do you ever get that funny feeling that something that you try hard to run from, you just can't get away from.No matter how far away you run. It always seems to come back to bite you on the Buttocks!? It always, no matter what you talk about, comes to the surface, and becomes the highlight of your disccussions. Often, you just can't figure out how the hell it came up or why or how you got onto that subject?
Maybe, just maybe, it's that something you're supposed to be truly passionate about and master within your lifespan. I feel that way about Christianity. I believe all those years ago when I first heard the Gospels and made a committment to The Christ, GOD planted that "seed" that no matter how far I try to run from it, or how I try to "kill" it,by doing things MY WAY, GOD always nutures and regrows it more and more! So I believe, it's my true purpose or calling,in life.
Ok, now here is that excerpt!
"Listen to the typical Gospel presentations nowadays. You will hear sinners entreated with words like " Accept Jesus as your personal saviour ", " Ask Jesus into your heart ", " Invite Jesus into your heart", " Invite The Christ into your life ",or " Make a decision for Jesus ".
You may be so accustomed to these phrases, that it will surprise you to learn that ----
NONE OF THEM IS BASED ON BIBLICAL TERMINOLOGY.
They are the products of a diluted Gospel. It is NOT the Gospel according to Jesus.
The gospel Jesus proclaimed was a CALL TO DISCIPLESHIP, a call to follow him in SUBMISSIVE OBEDIENCE. Not just a plea to make a decision or pray a prayer. Jesus' message liberated people from the bondage of their sin, while it confronted and condemned hypocrisy. It was an offer of eternal life and forgiveness for repentant sinners, but at the same time it was a REBUKE to outwardly religious people whose lives were devoid of true righteousness. It was in every sense good news, yet it was anything but easy-believism.
Our LORD's (Grk:'kurios', master) words about eternal life were invariably accompanied by warnings to those who might be tempted to take salvation lightly. He taught that the cost of following him is HIGH, and FEW find it. He said any who called him LORD will be forbidden from entering the Kingdom of Heaven."
The narrow gate...
OMG! Shock horror! Imagine going to church all your life, believing all that was said,and staying lukewarm, so you could do all YOU desired. Then you die,and get to stand in front of GOD in Judgement to hear him say those dreadful words;
" NO sorry you missed out. You CAN'T enter because I didn't know you.Away from me,you evil doer."
And the Lever "Down" is pulled...." Aaaaaahhhhh!" Splish! Glug! Glug! Glug!
Moral of the story: "Strive to enter through the narrow gate."
