Barriers to Success Made to be Broken

The bad news is that whether you will admit it or not, you have some barriers to success holding you back. For your own sake, do something today to begin getting control of them!
The good news is that barriers were made to be broken. What I mean is, roadblocks, stumbling blocks or barriers of any kind are there to challenge you and test you and push you to become better tomorrow than you are today.
You see, the thing is that for most people achievement and success of any sort is difficult. It’s not easy. It takes work and constant effort. If it was easy everybody would be doing it and then you would have to work that much harder to rise above the rest.
Count your blessings that success and achievement are hard for the majority of people. It thins out the competition and opens the way for you to succeed in a much bigger way ... if you’ve got the will and desire for it.
So, what exactly are some of the barriers to success that you need to break? How about anything that is blocking you from developing your powers of clarity, competence and concentration?
Clarity is vitally important. You have to be totally clear about your goals. If you aren’t crystal clear about your destination, how will you know which path to take to get you there? How on earth can you make any rational decisions or take any beneficial action if your goals or your vision are a bit foggy?
What barrier is blocking you from achieving clarity in your goals? Maybe you haven’t taken the time to clarify your goals? Maybe you’re just a dreamer and the prospect of actually making a firm decision about your future or your goals frightens you?
If you don’t have clearly defined goals supported by a detailed action plan of how to achieve them, then that is your starting point. Drop everything else and take some time to make a plan.
Competence is the next step. Once you know where you are going and you have a plan or a road map to take your there you then need to expand your knowledge and develop your skills in the key areas of competence that will be required to advance your plans.
A lack of either competence or confidence is a barrier to success that must be overcome if you ever hope to stop spinning your wheels and begin moving forward. Devote some serious thought to what skills you need to learn or what knowledge you need to gain in order to overcome this barrier.
Keep in mind that the best way to develop both competence and confidence is through practice. If you are committed to success, then make the effort to get experience in your key skill areas.
Concentration is a third key that many of us find challenging to get control of. Concentration is all about self-discipline and focus.
Distractions of all varieties are all around us on a daily basis, from personal situations that need our attention, to family and social obligations, hobbies and leisure activities that are far more enticing than our work responsibilities, technical challenges with our computers, websites or the Internet, or any number of other distractions that bombard us on a daily basis.
However, if we are clear on our goals, have a plan to guide our actions and are actively developing our competence and our confidence, then concentrating on our top tasks and responsibilities will be easier. We just have to guard against having our attention drawn away.
We each have many barriers to success that need to be identified and overcome in order to achieve our goals of personal and business success. In most cases, it will require a process of analysis, introspection and planning. The sooner you begin this process, the sooner you will experience the results that you seek. For your own good, get started on it today.
