Are You Attracting Good or Are You Attracting Bad?

Jul 1st 2010 at 3:40 PM

Some skeptics to what is known to be the Law of Attraction might ask the question, “if there is really a such thing as the Law of Attraction and that you can simply focus and think of the things you want and have them, then why is it that not everyone is having and enjoying the life that they want?” The actual answer to that question might surprise them and you.

The Law of Attraction is all about your thoughts and what you are focusing on. Most people spend time doubting and worrying about their problems and what they feel is not going right in their lives. They devote a lot of thoughts and negative energy to the things they don’t have and the things they don’t want. The problem with that is that these are emotional thoughts and the Law of Attraction doesn’t have emotions. It is not biased. It doesn’t care if someone sees something as a good thing or a bad thing happening to them. It simply responds to thoughts and signals that are sent out into the universe. By always focusing on the things that are considered “bad”, then the “bad” is just being affirmed by those constant thoughts. The Law of Attraction  gives you what you are thinking about. Therefore if you are constantly thinking of bad things you are “attracting bad” and not “attracting good”.

Conversely, those that choose to embrace the Law of Attraction focus on what they do want. They are “attracting” good to their lives. These would be a vast majority of the wealthy, powerful people in the world whose drive and ambition prompted them to stay focused. To keep their “eyes on the prize”. Because they only focused on being successful, powerful, wealthy, they achieved it. Some have either lost or came close to losing it all, only to rally and regain back again what they lost. More than likely, they lost their focus for a while. They started letting fears and thoughts of losing their finances, their power, and their success get in the way. They started sending negative signals into the universe. The minute they refocused, they got it all back. This is an example of the Law of Attraction at work.

The next time you find yourself thinking about something you “don’t” want, stop! Then flip it around and start thinking about things you “do” want. Start “attracting good”. You see, the Law of Attraction cannot compute “don’t”, “not”, “no” or any other negative words. When you say something like, “I don’t want to struggle financially.” The Law of Attraction interprets it as “I want to struggle financially.” Or “I don’t want to end up alone.” is interpreted as “I want to end up alone.” You get the point. So start by making a conscious effort to be more aware of what you are thinking about. Make sure it’s positive. Get in the habit of focusing on what you do want and how to go about getting it. Don’t give any more power to those poisonous thoughts that have been holding you back all this time. The more you practice this, the more successful you will be.

Obviously there are people who inspite of all their efforts, just cannot attract the good that they need to get there. Making the necessary changes may not be easy. There is help. Some of these are on my faceplate with the law of attraction and many others.

Hi, Lisa: Great point of view in this article. Many people DO ask why more bad or negative things happen to them than good things. Earl Nightingale always said, "We become what we think about," and Brian Tracy always says, "We become what we think about most of the time." If we want good things to happen, then we have to push away the negative thoughts and only think about the good things, most of the time! :-)

I love this article. This is something I try to do all the time in my life. It isn't always easy and I don't always manage it, but I keep trying.
