We treat self-care as though it's optional. We'll fit it in when we have time.

As a mom, I've realized that without intentionally putting myself first, my emotional well-being suffers dramatically, thereby hurting the rest of my family. It's important to take regular breaks from the slog that can be life.

Of course, my self-care is a work in progress, but it's managed beautifully with a self-care checklist. A list that shows all of the things FOR ME that I need to get done today. This list assures that it doesn't matter what time of day you do it. What's important is that it gets done!
