Barking Deterrents in Puppies
Puppies love to engage in any form of barking to vocalize what they feel or wish to convey. While some can easily be stopped by a basic command, some pet owners have to use specific deterrents and/or further training to stop persistent barking in puppies.
Common Barking Deterrents
- Citrus Collar – puppies generally hate the scent of citrus. Barking triggers the collar to release a citrus scent near the pup’s face.
- Ultrasonic Deterrent – ultrasonic sounds are emitted when a puppy starts barking. Humans are unable to hear any of these sounds.
- Hiring someone to walk or play with your pooch during the day can help ease boredom.
- Advanced Training
Your pet should learn to recognize you as the alpha leader of the pack even while he is still very young.
Aside from socialization, bringing your pet to a veterinary clinic for regular checkups will ensure that your puppy will grow up healthy and well-behaved. For more information, visit this website.
